A lot of persons are ready to go through any length just to satisfy their hunger. Abraham Maslow propounded a theory known as the”Hierarchy of Needs Theory”. At the bottom of the pyramid which is the very first need we have the “physiological need” which entails the basic needs of man which is at the focal point. People die every day as a result of hunger. There are a lot of people who cannot afford even one square meal during this period of the pandemic especially children and as a result of this, some individuals have taken it upon themselves to reach out to these children through Dreams From The Slum initiative: Ajegunle Food Bank. The Ajegunle Food Bank as part of our initiatives is set to alleviate the high rate of hunger caused by the corona virus pandemic and the eventual shutdown of some companies and businesses.
We are grateful to the Council Manager, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government for committing to feed 100 children every week. This would ensure that a total of 100 children have something to put in their stomachs seeing as their parents are out of work due to the pandemic.
